2014 Infiniti G37

While the current Infiniti G37 soldiers on for 2013, a brand-new model is on the way for 2014. The Car Connection's legion of lenses spied a prototype of the new model undergoing hot-weather testing in the desert.
While this test mule is covered in swirly camouflage, we can clearly see the swoopy design influenced by the Emerg-E and Essence concept cars. The pronounced character line, fluid shape, and Infiniti grille all seem to be more aggressive than current Infiniti model.

This prototype appears to be slightly larger than the current G37, which should translate into slightly more interior space. This is good news as both the Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series have grown in size since the current G37 made its debut.

Infiniti will continue to offer the G37 in three body styles: coupe, convertible, and sedan. We've also heard Infiniti will continue to offer a high-performance IPL variant of the G37.

The G37 will continue to be powered by a 3.7-liter V-6 engine with around 330 horsepower. Thanks to Nissan-Renault's partnership with Mercedes-Benz, the new G37 may also be available with a four-cylinder diesel in certain markets, though it's unknown if the diesel engine will be offered in the U.S. There's also possibility that Infiniti will offer a hybrid version of the new G37, one using a powertrain similar to the one found in the M35h Hybrid.
